My Experience: Ricky L. Tucker

My Grooming Greatness Experience began in 1963. I was a Kindergarten student at Lester Elementary School. Mr. Theodore Johnson Sr. was my Principal. I was six (6) years old then and now I’m a 57 year old man. Mr. Johnson began grooming the greatness within me in 1963 and for that I will be forever grateful “Thank you Mr. Johnson”. Pastor Johnson, thank you for “crystalizing” what Mr. Johnson sewed into countless boys and girls over so many years. 
He has been running a race (and leading the pack) for a long time. Pastor Johnson, the baton has been passed to you. My experience with Grooming Greatness gives me the opportunity to put into practice what Mr. Theodore Johnson Sr. planted within the fiber of my being. 

Now that I’m a Man, I realize Mr. Johnson “inspired me” and I now live the words I heard from my Elementary School Principal. As with Mr. Johnson and with Pastor Johnson, I will run my race within the lane God has assigned me to. While doing so, I will always carry these “Grooming Greatness” within my heart, mind and soul: “I am only one, but I am one. I can’t do everything, but I can do something. 

What I can do, I ought to do. And what I ought to do, by the Grace of God, I will do.” Mr. Theodore Johnson Sr. Grooming Greatness will live forever within me…
